Method
How the numbers work.
How is un-tendered exposure calculated?
Defective certificates are estimated at the 71% first-review defect rate. Your tracking method determines how many of those defects you would catch today. The undetected share is multiplied by the percentage of vendors that produce a tendered claim each year (adjustable) and by the loss on a rejected tender, which scales from $150,000 to $450,000 with your self-insured retention.
Why does my tracking method change the result so much?
Spreadsheets and front-page tools see limits and expiry dates but not the endorsement pages that decide whether a tender is accepted. Missing completed operations (CG 20 37), waiver of subrogation and primary and non-contributory wording only show up when the endorsement itself is read.
Is the claim frequency assumption realistic for my company?
It depends on your trades, loss history and project types, which is why it is adjustable. Pull your last five years of loss runs, count claims you tendered to a subcontractor's carrier, and divide by your average active subcontractor count.
Does the calculator store what I enter?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you request the executive PDF, and then only your name, email, company and the summary figures.
