About Pikorua Security

We built Pikorua Security after a missing CG 20 37 cost a contractor its tender.

Pikorua Security is a team of construction risk managers and document AI engineers in Delhi. We read the endorsement pages behind every Certificate of Insurance, because that is where coverage is won or lost.

Founding story

The certificate said yes. The endorsement said ongoing operations only.

In 2024, Ananya Rao was managing subcontractor risk transfer for a large US general contractor. A water intrusion claim surfaced fourteen months after a roofing subcontractor finished its scope. The contractor tendered the claim to the roofer's carrier as an additional insured. The carrier denied it.

The certificate on file had the additional insured box checked and had been marked compliant in a spreadsheet. The endorsement behind it was a CG 20 10 in the 04 13 edition, which covers only ongoing operations. Nobody had asked for, or checked for, the CG 20 37 that would have extended coverage to completed work. The contractor's own policy and self-insured retention paid the defense.

It was the third denial like it in two years, on different projects with different trades. Each time the paperwork looked fine at the front page. Ananya teamed up with Siddharth Menon, who had spent years building document AI for scanned insurance and financial forms, and in 2025 they started building the platform with a narrow thesis:

  • A certificate confers no rights. The ACORD 25 says so in its own header. Verification has to reach the endorsement pages and their edition dates.
  • Most chasing is a communication problem. The project manager, the subcontractor and its broker usually want the same outcome. A precise notice with the missing form number and an upload link resolves most deficiencies without a phone call.
  • Compliance only counts if it is enforced. A flag that does not reach the payment step in Procore or Yardi, or the badge reader at the gate, is a note in a file.

Today Pikorua Security is built by a team of risk engineers and software engineers who sit together in Delhi and work with US customers every week. Our risk engineering group maintains the edition rules for every form we check, and publishes the reasoning in the free ISO Endorsement Library.

Operating principles

Six rules we hold ourselves to

They decide product arguments, hiring calls and what we say to customers when the answer is not the one they want.

Verify the endorsement, not the certificate

An ACORD 25 is issued as a matter of information only and confers no rights on the certificate holder. Coverage lives in the endorsement pages, so that is where we read: form number, edition date, schedule entries and the exclusions printed underneath.

Every flag cites the page and line

A deficiency with no citation is an opinion. Each Pikorua Security flag points at the document, page and paragraph it came from, so a project manager, a broker and a claims adjuster can all check the same evidence.

Synthetic data only in demos

Every vendor, policy number and certificate in our sandbox, screenshots and sales calls is generated. No customer file ever appears in a demo, a slide or a training session.

Zero model training on customer files

Customer COIs, endorsements and contracts are processed to deliver the service and nothing else. Our extraction models are trained on synthetic packets we generate in-house.

Brokers are partners, not adversaries

The vendor's retail broker usually wants the same thing you do. Our notices tell them exactly which form is missing and give them a one-click upload link instead of a vague request to resend.

Software, not legal advice

Pikorua Security checks documents against the requirements you set. We do not interpret your contracts for you, give legal advice, sell insurance or adjust claims, and we say so on every page where it matters.

Leadership

Risk engineers and software engineers, at the same table

Half of our leadership came from construction and insurance risk work. The other half built document AI and enterprise integrations. Every product decision needs both.

Co-founder & CEO

Ananya Rao

Ananya spent eight years running subcontractor risk transfer for an ENR Top 100 general contractor in the United States, where she reviewed every denied additional insured tender line by line. She holds a B.Tech in civil engineering from IIT Madras and started Pikorua Security after the third denial in two years traced back to a missing CG 20 37.

Co-founder & CTO

Siddharth Menon

Siddharth led document AI work at Infosys, building extraction systems for scanned financial and insurance forms. He studied computer science at IISc Bengaluru and designed Pikorua Security's parsing pipeline around one rule: low-confidence fields go to a human, never silently through.

Head of Risk Engineering

Kavya Reddy, ARM, CRIS

Kavya has 11 years in US construction risk transfer across a broker construction practice and an owner's risk department. She holds the ARM and CRIS designations and maintains the edition rules behind every Pikorua Security endorsement check.

VP Product

Arjun Bhatia

Arjun built policy administration and certificate workflows on insurance platforms at Tata Consultancy Services for carriers in the US and UK. At Pikorua Security he owns the roadmap and spends a week each quarter with customer project teams.

Head of Integrations

Nisha Varghese

Nisha leads the team behind the Procore and Yardi Voyager connectors, including the payment hold logic that keeps money from reaching non-compliant vendors. She previously built ERP integrations for construction accounting systems.

Head of Security & Compliance

Rahul Saxena, CISSP

Rahul ran security assurance programs at Wipro for financial services clients before joining Pikorua Security. He owns the SOC 2 Type II program, encryption standards and the customer security review process.

Advisory board

People who have read a thousand tender letters

Our advisors come from the desks Pikorua Security sits between: defense counsel, owner risk, the broker certificate desk and the jobsite gate.
  • Construction defense attorney

    Meera Iyer

Partner at a New York construction defense firm with more than 20 years defending general contractors and owners in Labor Law and contractual indemnity disputes. Advises on how tender packets are read by carrier claims counsel.

  • Former VP Risk Management, office and industrial REIT

    Vikram Desai

Ran tenant and vendor insurance compliance across a national office and industrial portfolio for a decade. Advises on lease insurance requirements and property team workflows.

  • Former certificate desk leader, national commercial brokerage

    Priya Nair, CPCU

Led the construction certificate desk at a large US commercial brokerage, issuing and correcting certificates for contractors in more than 30 states. Keeps Pikorua Security's broker notices specific and fair.

  • Former safety director, AGC chapter

    Robert D'Souza, CSP

Spent 25 years in jobsite safety and contractor prequalification, most recently as safety director for a Midwest AGC chapter. Advises on site access gating and how field crews experience compliance holds.
