Risk Engineering · Full-time
Construction Risk Engineer
Be the person general contractor and REIT customers call when an endorsement looks wrong. You turn subcontract insurance exhibits into Pikorua Security rules, decide edge-case packets, and teach project teams why a CG 20 10 without a CG 20 37 leaves completed operations exposed.

The team
Where this role sits
Risk Engineering is the group that decides what Pikorua Security considers compliant. The team writes the edition rules behind every endorsement check, reviews the packets the parser is not sure about, and runs the onboarding audits that show a new customer what is really in their files. You will split time between customer work and the rule library, and you will be the first US-based member of the team, working closely with colleagues in Delhi through a daily overlap window.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Translate customer subcontract and lease insurance exhibits into Pikorua Security rule sets: limits by coverage line, required ISO forms and acceptable editions, AM Best floors and project-specific additional insureds.
- Review packets the parser routes for human review, decide the outcome, and write the reasoning a project manager can act on the same day.
- Run onboarding audits for new Enterprise customers: back-check their active vendor files and present the findings to their risk and operations leaders.
- Maintain the ISO Endorsement Library with the Document AI team, including edition histories, defect traps and model contract wording.
- Join calls with vendors' retail brokers to resolve stubborn deficiencies, keeping the conversation cooperative and specific.
- Bring field patterns back to product, such as carriers substituting manuscript forms for ISO forms or new exclusions appearing at renewal.
Requirements
What you bring
- 5+ years in construction risk transfer: a GC or owner risk department, a broker's construction practice, a carrier's construction unit, or a certificate desk.
- You can read a CGL policy and explain what CG 20 10, CG 20 37, CG 20 01, CG 24 04 and WC 00 03 13 do and how their editions differ.
- Comfortable explaining insurance concepts to project managers and controllers who are not insurance people.
- Strong written communication; your review notes become part of the audit trail in a tender package.
- Based in the United States and able to work Eastern or Central business hours.
- A clear sense of the boundary: you verify documents against contract requirements; you do not give legal advice or place coverage.
Nice to have
Bonus points, not requirements
- ARM, CRIS, CPCU or CIC designation. We pay exam fees for any designation you pursue.
- Experience with owner-controlled or contractor-controlled insurance programs (OCIP and CCIP).
- Familiarity with New York Labor Law 240 and 241 exposures and action-over claims.
